Name: Arin
Age: 16
Nation of Origin: Eastern Air Temple
Gender: Girl
Bender? If so, what kind?: Airbender
Group: none. Excommunicated
Apperance: Arin looks identical to most female Air Nomads. Her forehead is visible, showing off her "arrow," with her dark brown hair tied behind her back into a long braid. Her eyes are gray with a light complection to her. Since being banished and taking home to the Fire Nation, she has adapted her clothes to be more revealing than the robes of the Air Nomads. An orange shawl is worn over her yellow shirt, the shirt ending above the belly button, with her sleeves starting from above her elbows past her fingertips. An orange tied on piece of cloth acts as a belt over her yellow, tight, knee-length pants. The last of her clothes consist of her orange shoes and wooden carved necklace given to her by Monk Arinka.
Personality: Though Arin was excommunicated, her personality is still in most ways that of an airbender. Even through her tough times she holds a positive set of mind and way of life. She knows that where bad events lead, good ones follow. However, a spark of difference between her and the monks is that you must fight to gain peace. "Peace through war" as she says. She can become cruel to people who think lowly of her lifestyle and will approach them about it.
Within her airbending, she likes to use the more aggressive nature of her element, rarely seen among airbenders. With the winds enhancing her speed she likes using any opportunity necessary to use this to her advantage, especially in fighting. This lead to a key reason of her excommunication.
History: In her early years, Arin was recieved within the Eastern Temple and was left to become an Air Nomad. Her guardian, from the day she was born, volunteered to raise her as her pupil. This was Monk Arinka. She gave Arin her name as a shorter form of her own, hoping Arin would continue her legacy with her own pupil. As a baby, like most around the world, she was full of spirit and energy. She was also a little jokester. It took two years for her to begin walking, and after those two years, one to talk and before they both knew it she was a five year old girl, running, and talking without restraint. With a pleasant sight before her, Monk Arinka began her training with the girl.
Within these ten years, many happy moments and long-term memories were formed. Arinka, always kind and gentle, guided the girl as she began to develop the skills of an airbender. Everyday, after many hours of meditation and training, they would sit along the temple walls, looking out toward the sunset enjoying eachother's company. The time had come, at age seven where tradition took hold on the girl. Monk Arinka walked her over to the open area where an airbender traditionally recieved their life-long companion. As the Nursing Sky Bison appeared out of the sky, along with her younglings Arinka handed her an apple to give the bison of her choosing. And then she caught the eye of Peipei. She handed the young sky bison her apple, starting the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
By the time she was fourteen, her airbending skills were almost comparable to that of a master, while still holding closely to Peipei and Monk Arinka. As was also religion with the Air Nomads, upon becoming a master, the pupil most create a technique unique to only them. In doin so, Arinka sent Arin and Peipei to wonder the nations, and creating her unque ability. And they did so. She was most fascinated by the Fire Nation and in studying them, created her technique. The Air Bomb. Trapping air into a small sphere creating tension until it bursts out thrusting air. As the Monks before her witnessed this new technique, they were unwelcoming to it. They'd said that unless she drop her technique and create one once more, she wouldn't become a true master. Feeling mad for the first time, Arin spoke out against the monks, arguing that it took her very long to come up with it and said it was needed, as airbenders had very few offensive attacks. Speaking back, they'd said it wasn't in the nature of an airbender to have these thoughts, and regretfully she agreed. In doing so she'd practically set her own excommunication. She was to never return to the temple along with the others ever again. She took Peipei, and with a sad farewell said her goodbye to Monk Arinka who gave Arin her wood crafted necklace as a goodbye gift. Since that day she'd resided within the Fire Nation, taking in their nature as her own. There are still high morallities within her, along with her joyous spirit, yet the pain of leaving her home never fully healed. Many things have happened, and no doubt more will come towards the future. Only fate knows what is to come, the question is...will it be for the better?
