Name: Shyla
Age: 19
Nation of Origin: Fire Nation, currently traveling the world.
Gender: Female
Bender: No. Skilled Warrior.
Group: Shadow Bender
Appearance:
Before becoming a Shadow Bender
As typical in the Fire Nation, Shyla has dark brown hair styled with the top tied back into a small bun and the rest flowing behind her shoulders ending inches above her elbows. Her eyes are amber in color given off a beautiful look to them.
After becoming a Shadow Bender
Now changed because of the rise of a new bending ability, Shyla is much paler than before, yet still very beautiful. Styling a new set of hair, she wears it all down with bangs falling from left to right covering her,now orange, right eye. She has even gotten some tattoos that are now noticed on her shoulders and stomach region. The tattoos to the sides of her stomach are stripes, resembling those of a tiger.
Her clothes consist of a red top and black baggy pants. A tie- on black hood shadows over her face making only a bit of her nose and her red painted lips.
Personality: Confusion would be everything in one word describing Shyla's presence. Very early in life she had been a happy restless girl. Nothing stopped her, ever, from having a good time. In the most recent years she's now becoming unsure of herself. Nowadays she keeps to herself and rarely speaks to anyone about her problems. She's always stuck out in the crowd. For so long she'd wanted to be blessed with the ability to bend.
She is a strong, independent person nonetheless. She may take things a little to seriously but thats one of her key qualities getting through life. With an intelligent mind and strength through her agility she makes an excellent swordsman. Though with strength comes weakness. Because she has become unsocial she doesn't work well with others and sees it as competition.
As a Shadow Bender
After her experiences of becoming a shadow bender, Shyla is now..well...evil. She has now become a ruthless, merciless, and cold soul. Basically, if one were to get in her way they wouldn't be there the next day. She now lives with an " I will get what I want" kind of attitude. And she will take any means necessary to get what exactly she wants. She doesn't hold close to any other shadow benders, or tries not too. She knows that they, like her, are no longer pure or innocent, which makes her cautious around them.
She is intimidating toward most crossing her path as she gives off a bad vibe. Though every now and then, unlike many shadowbenders, she still has thoughts of regret and though it be highly rare, human feelings.
History:
Shyla was born to the fire nation nobles Ren and Naza. Born into a family of wealth, Shyla lived a very spoiled early life. She was a very joyous baby as she would laugh and play for what seemed hours. Her parents were always too busy with their political careers to actually spend too much time with her. Most of her time she was being cared for by a hired nurse, Nayna. She considered Nayna more of a friend than a nurse.
A few weeks after her seventh birthday, her parents had payed for her to go to a high class school to be educated. The time came when Nayna had dressed her for her first day, wishing her luck as she guided her to the school. Since the start of school she's always been a very bright edition to her classes. She was making friends and expanding her mind along with her peers.
Then after a few years of her daily routine of school she wanted to learn how to bend yet wasn't blessed with the ability to bend an element. Many times in her dreams she'd imagined herself bending fire, mastering its power and feeling it's warmth. She was heart broken when she'd learned she wasn't able to bend fire. So, her parents, not really caring what she did with her life, paid for her to try different styles of bending.
After three months of trying out water, earth, and air all hope was lost as she wasn't able to bend any element at all, but it wasn't a total loss. In practicing the elements months at a time, she was able to learn how the benders control their element. With this knowledge she knew maybe she could use the many styles to her advantage. It was Nayna who encouraged her to the way of the warrior. And it was in this field she showed promise. She was first sent to an old academy to the fire nation. It was once home to the legendary Master Piandao. She was thirteen when she first started. Her master was called Shiden, a great swordsman. Her first two years were stressful and exhausting as she practiced. Within these first years, Master Shiden had seen her greatest ability as she fought, agility. In battle she was very agile with quick reflexes which made it easier for her to dodge attacks and catch him off guard every now and then.
After months more of mastering her agility, she would need to practice on her strength, tremendously. Even though she was undeniably agile, her strength was poor as she attacked. Master Shiden took her onto her strength building practice so she could better strengthen her attacks. She was somewhat successful in building her strength though it wasn't as great as a master. By this time she was seventeen practically finished with her education and ready to learn more in the ways of the warrior. Yet if ever given the chance she would, no doubt, become that of which she'd ever dreamed of becoming. A bender.

"Many things change. Yet many don't." Those were the last words spoken to her before Ren's death. And they clung to her soul as she wept on the floor thinking back to the horrible thing she had done. The very person that kept her going, who raised her spirits was now gone and it was all her doing. Within an instance her thoughts went from misery and guilt to rage and hate. If she kept control over her actions and actually listened to him he might now be alive. Because of her own selfish thoughts the only person she'd ever loved was lost to her forever.
Laying next to the spiritless body, head against his chest she wept for hours and hours. Then when she was able to pull herself up from his side, she stood as if her own soul was gone. She looked toward the ground with enraged, blood-shot eyes giving out a hateful scream. She would no longer live by the rules of the shadows. It all started with that group of people, that cruel group of people. She knew now that they only way to stop everything was joining the very group standing in the way of the shadow benders' victory. But would the water tribe girl, and her allies, accept her for her past mistakes and allow her to join them?
Special Abilities: When becoming a shadow bender, Shyla has the ability to take the shadows to form a more solid, human shaped form and send them to attack her enemies.
