Amashi was sitting in a grassy patch of Aang's Valley. He had had a lot to deal with in a very short time. Just a few days ago, he had been told who he was, the Air Avatar. To say he was having difficulty wraping his mind around this fact was an understatement. He just couldn't believe it. He was one of the Avatars. He didn't feel worthy of such a great honor. He also kinda anxious about the great responsibility that now rested on his shoulders. He was just glad that he would have to share that responsibility with the other three Avatars.
Speaking of the other three Avatars, Amashi's bags were all packed. The monks said he should go meet with them and see what they were like. He would leave tomorrow, and that's what brought him here. He wanted to get one last look around the temples before he left. He didn't know how long he would be gone, but he didn't want to forget this place or its people. He was actually watching a game of airball between the younger benders. They were so cute just playing around in the sun. He could still remember the days when he would play a game, which was about seven days ago.

Hori was bored, the girl he was playing with earlier had left back to her respective air temple. Then the games he tried to join where all full and told him he couldnt play. So he was just flying through the air with Aori, doing flips and aerials to past the time. He flew over the A.......the a........the avatars valley. He could never remember the name. Then he spotted the biggest one of the airbenders. "Hey Amashi!" Hori called as he glided down towards him, Aoko following at his side. He dissassembled his glider and landed softly next to Amashi from about 20 feet in the air. Aoko followed and he licked Amashi in a greeting. Hori had always liked Amashi, he usually played with him when he was bored. "Hey you wanna play?" he asked quickly not letting Amashi get a word in. But he then noticed the look on his face, "Are you ok?"

Amashi was startled out of his thoughts by someone calling his name. He looked up to see Hori landing near him. Amashi liked playing with the young airbender. It reminded him of when he was younger. He didn't like being licked by Hori's pet too much though. As he wiped off the creature's spit, he heard Hori ask if he wanted to play. Amashi started to shake his head. He ated to disappoint the kid, but he really didn't have time to play. He wondered when he would be able to play with his young friend again.
Then he heard Hori ask if he was okay. It was tempting to lie to the kid. He didn't need to be burdened with Amashi's problems, but then again he wanted to let his young friend know that he wouldn't be around to play with him for a while. Amashi sighed softly. "Not exactly. I just found out some pretty big news, and the monks want me to leave for a while."

Hori looked at Amashi curious and (Can't think of word) wanting to help. He watched his senior wipe of the spit quickly and shake his head. "Aww......I was bored" Hori looked down, perhaps he'd wait to play airball and start his own game. "Your leaving!" Hori looked devastated, he was a good friend of his. He waited a bit before speaking again. "Hey, can I come with!?!" He looked hopeful maybe he wouldn't have to miss Amashi.

Amashi gave the kid a smile. He really was pretty cute, wanting to tag along, but Amashi had no idea what he was heading into, and he didn't want to see Hori hurt. "I don't think you can come, Hori. The monks probably wouldn't like it too much, and besides you need to work on your bending. You'll be a master before you know it if you train really hard." He gave Hori a thumbs up sign and a silly grin, trying to cheer the kid up. He must bbe heartbroken. But I have to do it,, Amashi thought to himself. He didn't want to leave his home or this place, but he had to. The world needed him now, and he wouldn't just vanish on it.

Hori didn't look sad, he was trying to prove to Amashi he was ready. "C'mon Amashi, Who cares what the monks think? They're old and wrinkly." Hori crinkled his nose thinking of the smell. "And they smell. But my bending is already powerful! I can do avatar Aang's air ball!" Hori gloated as he tried the move. The air diminishing in 5 seconds and Hori falling back down on his butt. "Well that wasn't my best try, but I'm ready! There's nothing out there that's that bad is there?"

Amashi laughed when Hori said the monks were old and wrinkling and that they smelled. "You keep crinkling your nose like that and the monks won't be the only ones with wrinkles." He told his young friend. Then Hori said something about Avatar Aang. Amashi hadn't even heard what Hori said. The word avatar just kept repeting in his head over and over. He had turned extremely pale, almost sickly looking with a slight green tinge to his skin. "I certainly hope not," Amashi mumbled under his breath.

Hori covered his nose. "No!" he yelled in distress, a quick joke between the two. Hori was having fun, and if this was the last time he see Amashi, he would try to make it the best. As he fell on his but from the airball he saw Amashi's panic stricken face. " Amashi? Are you feeling well?"
